Welcome, you curious little menace!
No rules, no perfection just vibes and a little chaos in this class
What’s in Your Kit
- 1 Adult Raccoon Skull
- 1 XL Gel Super Glue Tube (for commitment issues)
- 1 Decorative Chain with Death Head Moth Charm
- 1 Amethyst Spear
- 1 Bundle of Mixed Faux Florals
- 1 Black Ornate Frame
- 1 Access Card to Video Tutorials + Step-by-Step Guide (I’ve got you, don’t panic!)
What You’ll Need
- Paper towels (trust me on this)
- A steady-ish hand for glue + placement
- A protected workspace (unless you like consequences)
- Optional: your favorite playlist in the background
- Optional: gloves, apron, chaotic energy
Now lets get down to business! Please feel free to either watch the video below for step-by-step instructions or just read them because why not!
Step 1: Set the Scene
Cover your workspace and lay everything out! Take a moment to admire your materials like the little gremlin artist you are.
Step 2: Prep the Skull
Give your raccoon skull a quick look over. If needed, gently wipe away any dust!
Please handle with care as bones can break and this is the foundation of your entire creation.
Step 3: Build Your Vision (a.k.a. Controlled Chaos)
Before you touch the glue, dry arrange everything:
- Place your skull inside the frame
- Place the faux florals around it as you see in the photo/video instructions.
Step 4: Lock in the Base (Frame + Skull)
Once you’re happy with placement:
- Secure the skull inside the black ornate frame using your gel super glue FIRST you'll carefully place superglue along the underside of the jaw! Press down firmly yet carefully and gently wipe away and excess that squirts out onto the frame with a paper towel or your finger if you're wearing gloves!
- Do NOT secure the top of the skull with the jaw yet!
- Hold in place until stable (patience… unfortunately this step may take a few minutes to allow the superglue to set!)
This is your anchor everything else builds off this!
Step 5: Add the Florals
Start attaching your faux florals:
- Layer around the skull for depth
- Tuck pieces behind and around for a fuller look
- Don’t overthink it slightly wild > perfectly placed!
You’re creating contrast here!
Step 6: Place the Amethyst
Now add your amethyst spear! This is also where the top of the skull comes into place!
- Get the top of the raccoon skull
- Line it up with the jaw as pictured below.
- Place the amethyst spear into the front/middle of the mouth!
- Once your spear is somewhere sturdy you'll gently remove the top of the skull then place gel super glue where the top fits into the bottom of the jaw. This will not dry immediately and gives you time to reposition the jaw around your amethyst but please work quickly!
- Once the jaw is set around the amethyst BEFORE THE GLUE DRIES you'll want to put some superglue get on the teeth inside the mouth where the sphere will sit to ensure it doesn't continue to move around or fall out of the mouth!
- Hold until set you can remove any access with a damp paper towel or your finger again with a glove!
This is your focal point!
Step 7: Drape the Chain
Time for the finishing touch you're almost done YAY!
- Drape the chain + death head moth charm
- You'll want to put the top of the chain right underneath the leaves to hide the glue!
- Put a dab of glue on the very top of the chain and press down gently
- Let the glue cure and then the chain will fall naturally on the frame
Step 8: Let It Set (No Touchy!!)
Step away and let everything fully dry for about an hour.
Yes, you’ll want to touch it. Maybe even hang it on the wall! Don’t. It's a trick!!
Step 9: Display Your Creation
You did it!!!!! You made something weird and beautiful. I'm proud of you!
Hang it, prop it, or place it somewhere it will absolutely start conversations.
🐈 Final Note from Clever Cat Curiosities
There’s no “perfect” way to do this only your way.
If it feels a little unhinged, you’re doing it right!
